Boudhanath

The Buddhist stupa of Boudha Stupa dominates the skyline; it is one of the largest stupas in the world. The influx of large populations of refugees from Tibet has seen the construction of over 50 gompas (Tibetan convent) around Boudha. As of 1979, Boudha Stupa is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Pashupatinath Temple

The Pashupatinath Temple is a famous and sacred Hindu temple.This temple complex was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage Sites's list in 1979. This "extensive Hindu temple precinct" is a "sprawling collection of temples, ashrams, images and inscriptions raised over the centuries along the banks of the sacred Bagmati river".

Swayambhunath

Swayambhunath is an ancient religious architecture atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu city. For the Buddhist Newars, in whose mythological history and origin myth as well as day-to-day religious practice Swayambhunath occupies a central position.

Kathmandu Durbar Square

Kathmandu Durbar Square (Basantapur Darbar Kshetra) in front of the old royal palace of the former Kathmandu Kingdom is one of three Durbar Squares in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal, all of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It is known as Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square, a name derived from a statue of Hanuman, the monkey devotee of Lord Ram, at the entrance of the palace.

Patan Durbar Square

Patan Durbar Square is situated at the centre of the city of Lalitpur in Nepal. It is one of the three Durbar Squares in the Kathmandu Valley, all of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. One of its attraction is the ancient royal palace where the Malla Kings of Lalitpur resided.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square

Bhaktapur Durbar Square is the plaza in front of the royal palace of the old Bhaktapur Kingdom. The Bhaktapur Durbar Square is located in the current town of Bhaktapur, also known as Bhadgaon. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many tourists attraction is toward the pachpann jhyale durbar.

Thamel

Thamel is a commercial neighbourhood in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Thamel has been the centre of the tourist industry in Kathmandu for over four decades, starting from the hippie days when many artists came to Nepal and spent weeks in Thamel. Thamel is distinguished by its narrow alleys crowded with various shops and vendors. Commonly sold goods include food, fresh vegetables/fruits, pastries, trekking gear, walking gear, music, DVDs, handicrafts, souvenirs, woolens, and clothes.

Durbar Marg

Durbar Marg is a street in Nepali city of Kathmandu. It is considered as the heart of Kathmandu city. As it leads to the former Royal Palace of Narayanhiti, Durbar Marg is also known as King's way among foreigners. It is a famous tourist area after Thamel. Durbar Marg is a posh area of Kathmandu with luxury hotels such as Hotel Del' Annapurna, restaurants serving international cuisines, pricey boutiques, travel agencies and airline offices.

Shivapuri

Shivapuri know as Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park is the ninth national park in Nepal and was established in 2002. It is located in the country's mid-hills on the northern fringe of the Kathmandu Valley and named after Shivapuri Peak of 2,732 m (8,963 ft) altitude. The park includes some historical and religious sites, and a popular hiking route for local people and tourists.

Garden of Dreams

The Garden of Dreams, also the Garden of Six Seasons, is a neo-classical garden in Kaiser Mahal Kathmandu, Nepal. Located in Kaiser Mahal which is across the street from the former Royal Palace at the entrance to the Thamel tourist area, the Garden was made famous as the Garden of Six Seasons created for Field Marshal Kaiser Sumsher Rana.

Nagarkot

Nagarkot commands one of the broadest views of the Himalayas in the Kathmandu valley (8 Himalayan ranges of Nepal out of 13 from here). The ranges include Annapurna range, Manaslu range, Ganesh himal range, Langtang range, Jugal range, Rolwaling range, Mahalangur range (Everest range) and Numbur range with views of the Kathmandu valley and Shivapuri National Park.

Babar Mahal

Babar Mahal is a Rana palace in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The palace complex, located north of the Bagmati river, was incorporated in an impressive and vast array of courtyards, gardens and buildings. Initially the palace was under Jung Bahadur Rana's Thapathali Durbar but later was separated and demolished and rebuilt by Chandra Shumsher Jang Bahadur Rana, as prime minister and the executive leader of Nepal.

Chandragiri Cable Car

Chandragiri Cable Car is a gondola lift transportation system located in Kathmandu, Nepal. Opened on 2016, the Chandragiri Cable Car runs from Thankot to Chandragiri hills. The 2.4 km (9,095 ft) line has two stations.The cable car system consists of 38 gondolas that can carry 1,000 people per hour.

Narayanhity Palace

Narayanhiti Palace, or Narayanhiti Durbar (Nepali: नारायणहिटी दरवार) is a palace in Kathmandu, which long served as residence and principal workplace of the reigning Monarch of the Kingdom of Nepal. Located in the capital city of Kathmandu, the palace was the centre of state occasions and royal hospitality.

    "Visited Kathmandu on business tour & stayed in this hotel. The rooms have centralized AC with temperature control switch. Has a flat TV, minibar and all such amenities in the room. Garden facing rooms have excellent view. In all excellent experience"

  • returning to my home from home

    "as the title says this is my home from home while in Nepal as ever I love this hotel returned in 2017 for Dashain festival time as ever my guide was Uttara fantastic lady also used Vespa valley for a vespa ride around Kathmandu fantastic food safari. As a footnote this is the hotel Beck Weathers used to recover after the ill fated climb on Everest"
