- Cancellation of confirmed bookings must be advised, in writing, 72 (seventy-two) hours prior to expected arrival date.
- Any cancellation made less than above stipulated minimal shall attract retention equivalent to one night’s room plus applicable taxes.
- Cancellation made on the day of arrival or No-Show shall attract retention charges equivalent to the entire stay plus applicable taxes.

Hotel Yak & Yeti is a luxury 5-star hotel in the heart of Kathmandu offering sophisticated comfort and elegance in grounds steeped in history. Located at fashionable Durbar Marg, Yak & Yeti is just minutes from Kathmandu’s best shops and restaurants and central to all of the city’s sights.
The Hotel
On the 27 th September 1977, the Yak & Yeti opened as a 120 room, 5-star hotel – the first of its kind in Nepal. A new wing of an additional 150 rooms was built in harmony with the architectural features of the old palace, Lal Durbar, bringing the room total to 270.
The whole hotel is a sumptuous array of beautiful artefacts, art and traditionally crafted fixtures. Attention to detail has been meticulously considered throughout, giving the feeling you aren’t just in a hotel as much as an art gallery or museum.
We proudly offer two dining choices – Our Indian Fine-Dining restaurant, Spice Room overlooking the garden and The Chimney, our historic, fine dining restaurant.
Over the years the hotel has been upgraded and extended and now boasts a shopping arcade, a swimming pool, two tennis courts and a state of the art fitness center and luxury spa.
The History
The original palace, Lal Durbar or Red Palace, is over 100 years old and you can enjoy many of the original heritage interiors that have been lovingly maintained. At the epicentre of the hotel’s rich history, Lal Durbar now hosts a grand ballroom, a casino, banquet rooms and our famous Chimney restaurant.

Hotel Yak & Yeti has a variety of dining options catering to any mood as well as our lively bar if you fancy wetting your whistle. Our opulent full American-style buffet breakfast is offered in our coffee shop and for our club guests a continental buffet breakfasts is served at our Club Lounge.
Our fitness area and gardens offer a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, tennis courts and jogging track. Our Nirvana Spa includes a variety of treatment packages, with massage rooms and sauna.
Hotel Yak & Yeti proudly offers "The Lal Durbar Convention Center", the ultimate venue for meetings, conferences and exhibitions in Kathmandu and an all-time favorite destination for luxury weddings.
The hotel also offers customary laundry, dry cleaning and beauty services. The reception is open 24 hours to serve our guests, and we have night time security. Airport transfers are available.
